Debbie Hepplewhite


Debbie Hepplewhite is an independent consultant, writer, synthetic phonics expert and inspirational speaker. She is an ex-headteacher with over 20 years’ teaching experience and is an advisor to the UK Reading Reform Foundation Committee.

Debbie offers detailed practical advice to parents, teachers and advisers and has published her own programme, Phonics International. She is author and phonics consultant on Oxford Reading Tree’s Floppy’s Phonics Sounds and Letters. Debbie believes that synthetic phonics is the most effective method of teaching reading and spelling skills.
